Aluminum requirements can look simple until engineering, purchasing, receiving and logistics compare notes. A request for plate may need thickness tolerance, edge condition, packaging protection and certificate timing. A coil inquiry may need width, ID, OD, surface notes and release rhythm. An extrusion request may need profile drawings, billet planning and repeat order assumptions.
Kaiser Aluminum uses your inquiry to identify what should be answered first. If you do not know the grade, describe the application. If you do not know the weight, share the dimensions. If the order is linked to an OEM or regulated program, mention documentation before the quote is finalized.
For repeat programs, include the expected monthly or quarterly demand, whether releases ship to one plant or several locations, and whether substitutions require approval. For spot buys, include the date you need material in hand and any receiving restrictions that could affect freight planning.
